Later that evening, just as Carolyn was about to start cleaning her carpets, her brother called. “That can’t be right!” she blurted out.

“What wrong?” her brother asked.

Wanting to be sure she really had won, Carolyn quickly hung up with her brother, left her carpet cleaning supplies where they were and headed back to Murphy’s to have the clerk scan her ticket. As soon as she had confirmation of her win, Carolyn drove home and called her brother back to share the good news.

Much later that night, Carolyn did finally clean her carpets, but not until she had secured her ticket in her safe.

Carolyn plans to use her winnings to pay bills and help her family.
